Quantum of the Seas is brand new and busy being prepared for its first sailing next year. The newest vessel in Royal Caribbean’s lineup of international cruise ships, it will be an exciting, sea-going adventure for UK travellers on its maiden journey.
Departing from the English port of Southampton, the ship’s inaugural voyage will begin on 2 November 2014 and is scheduled to take eight nights and seven days to reach its destination at Cape Liberty in New Jersey, USA. Travelling to the edge of New York City, the cruise ship will dock early in the morning on 10 November, after a luxurious journey across the Atlantic Ocean.
A Quantum Cruise Ship
Quantum of the Seas is a super ship that is far larger and more indulgent than the average cruise boat. With 16 towering decks and spacious surroundings for a maximum of 4,905 passengers, there is plenty of room to lounge, sleep, swim, eat and drink – even skydive, if desired.
The ship has its own unique range of revolutionary attractions, thus proving you don’t always need to stay on land to partake in an action-packed holiday. If adrenaline is what you crave, it can be found everywhere – even on a luxury cruiseliner such as the Quantum of the Seas.
The ship features ‘RipCord by iFly’, a simulated sky-diving programme that operates in a safe, enclosed environment. It is an exhilarating experience, whether you have dared jumping out of a plane lately or not. Another option for thrill-seekers is to take to The North Star – a windowed capsule that offers 360-degree views over the sea and across the ship, from 300 metres in the air.
There are other potentially exhausting activities available that are far less scary. Visit SeaPlex – the ship’s huge sporting and entertainment complex – for exercise and excitement anytime during this Royal Caribbean transatlantic cruise, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
You can put on rollerskates and race your family members around the rink. Or what about rock climbing, mini golf, jogging or venturing into a bumper car to collide with family members and other guests? It is obvious this ship was built for fun!
First Voyage From England
Some cruises from Southampton aren’t destined to be sedate. While it may be a familiar option to cruise for relaxation and fine dining, Quantum of the Seas pushes the boundary on ‘traditional cruising’. This is an adventure ship that is big, bold and bound for action on the high seas.
On a vessel as stunning and new as Quantum of the Seas, there are many aspects that will delight and wow passengers on its inaugural sailing. Aside from its spectacular interiors, pristine decks and contemporary fittings and furniture, there are one-of-a-kind virtual balconies and connecting staterooms for families of any size.
Whether travelling with lots of kids or just a few, this is a family-friendly cruise ship that provides a simple, ultra-convenient way to holiday with your spouse, children and/or older parents. Enjoying time out with your child and/or grandchild can be just as much fun offshore as it is on onshore. You may also like to slip away for a few spa treatments while you’re on board too. There are at least a hundred to choose from at Vitality Spa.
Whatever your age, there are many reasons to board Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas in 2014. If it is your first time cruising, it might be enough to tempt you to experience more of the world by cruise ship. With many destinations to visit across the English Channel and the Atlantic, Southampton is just one port away from it all.
