A Rough Guide to Kenya
I am a genuine fan of African music! The sound of Ladysmith Black Mambazo can calm my stressed working body anytime of the day and each time I hear their soothing music, there is only one place I picture and that is the continent that these talented group of singers came from- Africa. And one of the best countries here has to be Kenya, as it has captured the eyes of tourists from all over the world because of the many adventures that this place has to offer.
Kenya is for the ultimate nature buff as you get to explore their wildlife and beaches. Diving to their amazing underwater view is definitely one of the highlights of your trip here seeing how they have managed to preserve such beautiful coral reefs!
And of course, your trip here is never complete without seeing Kenya’s famous safari! If you’re looking for thrill and total adventure in this lifetime, then being in the middle of the wild is something what I would recommend. See how the king of the jungle rule over its borders, listen to hyenas’ very intriguing laughter and feel the fear that preys have in their guts as these wild beasts are on the move to have them for lunch! If you want some action, Kenya will definitely give it to you.
It’s like watching National Geographic in real time feed! And it’s way better than the movies because the ending is totally unpredictable. You’ll never know if the predator will succeed and would the prey have the chance to get away. You’ll literally have to stick to the cover story and better not blink! And if you’re wondering if it’s safe to actually witness all this, then don’t think about it because so far; there hasn’t been any report of some wild beast devouring tourists yet because you’ll be secured with a group of professional tour guides who care about your safety.
From their unbelievable landscapes to their rainforest, it’s going to be hard to pick the best view that you could possibly see here because there are just too many! It’s a must to see the sunrise and the sunset by the beaches of the Indian Ocean and take a walk on the calming grasslands of the Masai Mara. Get ready to be blown away by the space that you can get at The Rift Valley.
There are so many parks to visit here as well and one is the Hell’s Gate National Park. Now there is no reason to fear the name of this park because it’s actually a pretty cool venue to camp out and even conduct some picnic although it’s best that you are keen with your surroundings because you just might get the most spontaneous adventure that you’re looking for. Remember that somewhere out there is a Safari and you’ll never know really when you could actually run into a wild animal! I don’t mean to scare you but it’s just best that you’re prepared.
Now if you really intend to mingle (okay mingle from a far) with lions, elephants, leopards and other beasts, the Tsavo National Park is the best place for you. On the other hand, Kenya is not only about wild stuff and the jungle, don’t you know that it is also known for being among the top 5 destination for bird-watching and this is actually something that they hold as a world-record!
So by now you are probably thinking that this place is all about nature tripping. Well if you want some city life, then I’d have to suggest that you go to Nairobi, which happens to be Kenya’s largest city. Here you’ll find an actual normal city nightlife. And yes, you can scrap the idea of having hyenas or cheetahs on the background. They have bars and clubs and lots of cafes that you could spend the night partying or mingling with their locals.
And since I care about your safety, I’d have to tell you that crime is quite a running issue in this country since it’s pretty near Somalia. It’s best to stay 150km close of the border because it’s less dangerous. Before you plan a trip to this place, make sure that you are updated on the current situation of this country.
